Joerg Blumtritt is an entrepreneur, researcher, and professor of digital media and communications. He teaches at Wheaton College, Massachusetts, at NYU New York and in Abu Dhabi. He co-founded data science and blockchain ventures in Munich, Gdansk, and New York, including a decentralized payment and identity platform for the UN World Food Programme operational across Africa and Asia. He consults businesses and public institutions on technology-driven transformation, with clients including Walt Disney, Siemens, and Deutsche Bahn. Joerg is co-author of the Slow Media Manifesto, translated into 25 languages, and his forthcoming book Dial-up: An Oral History of the Early Internet will be published by IG, New York, in November 2026.
